Ahlul Bayt News Agency - The ISIL terrorist group has transferred several tons of weapons and ammunition from Syria to the Central province of Anbar in Iraq, sources revealed on Thursday.
"The ISIL has transferred several tons of weapons and ammunition from Syria to al-Qaem city, 350km West of Ramadi city," Farhan Mohammad, an official at Anbar province's governor-general's office, was quoted as saying by the Arabic-language Soumeria News website on Thursday.
He warned that the ISIL seeks to recruit forces in al-Qaem to start advancing towards Haditha and al-Baghdadi districts in the Western parts of Ramadi.
Meantime, news reports on Wednesday said that more than 15,000 volunteer forces from the Central province of Anbar have registered to join the Iraqi army to fight against the ISIL terrorists.
"More than 15,000 people from Anbar province have registered to join the Iraqi army to liberate the province from ISIL's control,” Hazal Fahdawi, a provincial official, said.
He further added that the Iraqi government has no problem for arming the volunteers.
“Within the next two weeks all the volunteers will start training in two Iraqi military bases in Hamdanyie and Hain el-Asad," the official said.
At least 18 ISIL terrorists were killed as Iraqi fighter jets targeted the terrorist group's positions in the Western Anbar province on Wednesday.
The Iraqi warplanes carried out several attacks against ISIL in the Western city of Fallujah and killed more than 18 terrorists.
The strikes also demolished a small bomb-making facility in the city.
The ISIL Takfiri terrorists currently control shrinking swathes of Syria and Iraq. They have threatened all communities, including Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians, Ezadi Kurds and others, as they continue their atrocities in Iraq.
Senior Iraqi officials have blamed Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and some Persian Gulf Arab states for the growing terrorism in their country.
The ISIL has links with Saudi intelligence and is believed to be indirectly supported by the Israeli regime.
